“MarthaPalooza Unplugged” For 7 ½ hours on a hot afternoon two summers ago, a Brighton backyard channeled the freewheeling musical spirit of a mini Woodstock as local musicians, individually and collectively stepped up to the mic, plugged into their amps and delighted listeners as they let loose with a variety of rockin’ and bluesin’ and rollicking good tunes. This “happening” inspired the promoters to encourage the eclectic cross-pollenization of musically inspired friends from different genres and backgrounds. This event came to be known as…”MarthaPalooza.”

We will recreate the spirit of this communal event on this chilly March night with your host, Martha Schermerhorn. Martha is a Rochester, NY based visual artist, sculptor and photographer whose works have been widely exhibited nationally. The dream and creation of a music festival in her own backyard, for her, was “a major bucket-list item.” Martha is delighted that Abilene was willing to help keep the spirit of MarthaPalooza Summer 2016 alive. She loves music of all genres..and she also loves a good party!
