Little Feat “Waiting for Columbus” Tribute

Buffalo-native Donny Frauenhofer is well-known as in integral member in projects such as Allman Brothers Band tribute Big Martha, original psychedelic rock act Intrepid Travelers, his own original jazz fusion trio Donny Frauenhofer Trio (DF3) and his large ensemble Donny Frauenhofer Band (DFB) which performs tributes to legendary bands such as Little Feat, Frank Zappa, Snarky Puppy, among others. He has been nominated for multiple awards such as "JazzBuffalo Pianist of the Year" (2016-present) and "John Hunt Jazz Artist of the Year" (2018, 2019, 2021) and his debut trio album "Uppin the Ante" was nominated for multiple awards as well, such as JazzBuffalo's Jazz Album of the Year. The Donny Frauenhofer Band will be performing the music of Little Feat on Friday, July 8th at Abilene Bar & Lounge, specifically the music from the Waiting for Columbus live album as well as some choice deep cuts. The 8-piece band features a collection of some of the best young talent out of Buffalo, NY, including a horn section much like the live album featured the Tower of Power horns. The 8-piece band brings a powerful and full sound to the potpourri of rock, blues, and boogie-woogie that makes the Little Feat the incredible band they are.
