B. Malteze and Deep Dive presents - an Evening of Duets with All-Female Special Guests!

 Diving deep into some of her favorite female artists’ catalogs, Barbara Malteze has curated an evening’s worth of songs, (most of which you are probably not familiar with unless you are a self-professed “music aficionado”), to present a fresh take on “cover bands.” The show will unfold with three sets, each set representing a particular genre; (Americana, County-Rock and Soul-Gospel-Blues). For each set, Barbara will be joined by a female duet partner and backed by a stellar group of musicians who have worked hard to give each set its own flavor and feel.

“When it came to inviting female duet partners, I had a difficult time, especially with so much talent in Rochester,” Malteze said. “But I’m really excited by this lineup, and I think it will be an enjoyable evening for those who want to come out to listen and/or dance!”

 Barbara Malteze (your host) – a native of Rochester, Barbara left at an early age to follow her musical dreams which took her to Los Angeles, (where she recorded with the Waters Sisters) and went on to front the internationally-acclaimed iconic heavy metal band, Malteze. From there, she moved to Texas and spent time recording in Austin and Nashville with her husband/bandmate Kevin Higgins, as well as touring the U.S. playing house concerts and listening venues full-time for over 20 years. Coming full circle, Barbara has recently returned to Rochester with two Texas Music Awards for “Female Vocalist of the Year” and some grand ideas as to where she’s going to take Deep Dive!

 Bianca Lewey (Americana set) – Bianca started her musical journey before she could talk, as she tried to sing along with Gloria Estefan’s recordings! From there, she moved on to theatre productions; however, her journey hasn’t been all that long. This lovely young lady is only 17 years old and garnering accolades from everyone who hears her sing!  Bianca credits Elvio’s ROC Star Academy for helping her gain confidence on stage, resulting in her being invited to join local faves Ruby Shooz and up-and-comers Inches of Mercury.  “I am thrilled to be a part of this project and can’t wait to share the stage with all of these amazing singers!” Bianca enthused.  You are not going to want to miss this phenom’s performance!

 Isabella Barbagallo (Country-Rock set) – Isabella is a bit of a chameleon. She brings forth her experience of playing in acoustic solo/duo situations, choral groups and musical theater to this project, but also has the capacity to pull out the rocker chick!  As a matter of fact, Isabella is the lead vocalist of one of the most wildly popular, high-energy cover bands in Upstate NY, BB Dang! Harnessing her broad musical influences, Isabella can seamlessly transition between pop, rock and country genres, which is why she is perfect for this show! Get ready to be blown away when Isabella unleashes some Grace Potter and Sheryl Crow!

 Champagne Manley (Soul-Gospel-Blues) – Champagne started singing as a child in the church choir alongside her mother and brother. From there, she ventured out into the open mic nights at local coffeehouses. In three short years after appearing on the music scene, she won the local Rochester singing competition (Lovin’ Cup Idol) and proceeded to join her first band. Since 2016, Champagne’s career has taken off as she played with The Swooners, Significant Other, Brotha Wilson and Unpack. Some notable highlights of her career thus far include performances at Turning Stone Casino, the Rochester International Jazz Festival accompanied by Bruno Mars’ keyboardist, and the Main Stage of the Fringe Festival.  Champagne cites Rachel Prince (Lakeside Drive), Tina Turner and Amy Winehouse as those vocalists who have inspired her.  But just wait…you’ll be the one inspired when you hear this powerful woman sing!

 The Band – Deep Dive is a collaboration of musicians from local bands who thought this would be a fun project to launch; including Kevin Higgins (Texas-bred award-winning songwriter), Mark Jacobson, Paul Lindsley, Mark Annal (Liar’s Moon), Chris Meeker (Moving Mountains) and maybe even some special guests!
