The Whiskey Charmers

The Whiskey Charmers are a Detroit-based band led by Carrie Shepard and Lawrence Daversa. Daversa’s melancholy guitar weaves in and out of Shepard’s strong vocal melodies and simple lyrics, creating a sound that will tug at your heartstrings and give you the feeling of winding down a dusty desert road.

William P Davis (Former Deputy Director of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville) says of the band, “I’ve heard a lot of good musicians. The Whiskey Charmers remind me of no one – and, to me, that is one of the best compliments an act can receive.”

The Whiskey Charmers have won several Detroit Music Awards and their lonesome sound caught the attention of Sony Entertainment and landed them a music placement as the backdrop for a bar scene in the video game “Detroit: Become Human” (2018) which has sold over eight million copies and introduced their music to new enthusiastic fans around the world.

The Charmers have been releasing albums at a steady clip since 2015 and their latest album “Streetlights” dropped this past June. Having roamed the globe and found solace in music, he’s a musical vagabond in search of new melodies, and unlikely collaborations. Find him under a tree playing a melancholy melody, then ripping on the electric with some hard hitting musical amigos, maybe dishing out some tasty licks for a funky DJ, or even singing his own ballads. On a night out on the town, he’ll play some originals, some tasty classics, and some songs from around the globe. When you hear him next, you just might like what you hear…a lot.
