Murmur-Tribute To REM

Doors 7:00pm • Music 9:00pm

MURMUR recreates the power and passion of R.E.M.'s live performances with precise musical detail. Though still great friends, the founding members of R.E.M. have made it quite clear that they will never tour again. Murmur’s mission is to bring audiences as close as possible to the profound experience of R.E.M. live.

Often thought of as the founders of the alternative rock genre, R.E.M.’s influence on modern music is undeniable and they are widely seen as one of the most important alt-rock bands of all time. When asked about R.E.M., Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain said, “I don’t know how that band does what they do. God, they’re the greatest.”

Murmur is fronted by vocalist Keith Calveric who led the incredibly successful original pop-rock band Johny Vegas for nearly a decade. He is joined by a phenomenal group of players with 1000s of combined live performances under their belts. Kevin Cotrupe (Guitar) a gifted songwriter and Mike Miller (Bass) were also both members of Johny Vegas with Miller additionally performing with bands such as Lonesome Crow and The Full Moon Band. Tommy Connors, the band’s multi-instrumentalist (Guitars, Mandolin) is an incredibly talented, accomplished player and former member of Seeking Homer and Medicine Wheel. Andrew Pushlar (Keys) is a classically trained pianist with over 25 years experience. Devin Shay (Drums) has provided his rock solid beats for Syracuse’s, The Headphones for over 6 years.

In part, Murmur hopes to re-introduce R.E.M. to a generation that may only be familiar with their later year commercial successes. With an incredibly deep catalog of soaring, powerful, heartfelt songs with amazingly poignant and relevant political messages, there is still much to learn about and from the works of R.E.M.
