Jack and the Jukebox
Three young iconoclasts secretly conspire to put their original music together - while each in different bands -after sharing a bag of Doritos and complaining about the lack of depth in popular mainstream music. They then assemble at Allen Ginsberg’s former Estate to add mystery and resonance to their inspirations, and get more than they expected. Mystery novel? Strategy for world peace? Winning Lotto numbers? No, Jack and the Jukebox! Some call it Art Rock with a beat; some call it edgy Neoclassical with a romantic patina of Cabaret.
While listening to their music, fans claim to hear a distant tincture of old Genesis and Pink Floyd, with a dash of Jeff Buckley, a sprinkle of Procol Harum and even some Velvet Underground thrown in for good measure, but the main course is purely Jack and the Jukebox. With impeccable Hipster credentials - but too much irony to swallow it whole - they draw millennials, Xers, and even the odd Boomer with equal devotion.
